Destiny 2:  Cerberus +1 Guide and Overview

Cerberus +1 is an Exotic auto rifle in Destiny 2: Forsaken. This guide will explain how to get this weapon and will tell about its advantages and disadvantages.

This thing looks like it’s made of different junk. It reminds me weapons from Fallout game series. It’s a package of different gun barrels strapped together. But despite this unusual junky style, this rifle works not so bad.

Destiny 2:  Cerberus +1

How to get?

You can get Cerberus +1 from Exotic Engrams. This is a randomly dropped weapon as many other exotics in Destiny 2. You will have to grind in order to receive it.

Perks

  • Four-headed Dog: Shots erratic bullets from all gun barrels at the same time.
  • Spread Shot Package: aiming this weapon reduces the spread of its projectiles.
  • Rifle barrel: increases range but decrease handling speed.
  • Fluted barrel: increases handling speed and stability.
  • Full bore: increases range, decreases stability and handling speed.

Four-headed Dog perk is the main damage dealer perk of this gun. You make a shot from all the barrels simultaneously. I know that it’s not what you expect from the assault rifle. It is more like a shotgun-style shot, and this type of shot also has its downside: the bullets do spread. The second perk reduces the spread of the projectiles while you are aiming.

That’s why you have to pay attention to the attack distance. The closer you stay the more accurate your shot. It requires more positioning skills than a traditional auto rifle. Cerberus +1 doesn’t have too much range. It fires farther than a traditional shotgun but using Four-headed Dog advantage at a very large distance is impossible. If you use this weapon, your attack distance shouldn’t be too big.

The second perk works only when you are aiming, so you will have to do it most of the time. If you aren’t a fan of aiming and you prefer hip-shots, this weapon isn’t for you.

The next disadvantage is low magazine size. The magazine has 31 bullets which aren’t enough. You will have to reload very often and reloading speed isn’t the best.

In PvE, this gun is very good against trash mobs and shielded enemies. It’s also good against bosses. It deals pretty high damage.

In PvP, Cerberus +1 can also good but only if you master it. It will require some practice. As I said in the beginning, you need to control the distance and to aim.

In general, I don’t like this gun. Not because it’s useless. No, it’s useful. But it’s still an Exotic weapon. In my opinion, an exotic weapon must have something unique. And this gun is pretty similar to many other weapons in the game. This is my personal opinion.

If you want to read about other exotics in Destiny 2 I recommend reading One Thousand Voices GuideLord of Wolves Guide, Malfeasance Guide, Mindbenders Ambition Guide. These articles contain a lot of information about the coolest weapons in the game.
